I'm Lara Fdez, an abstract painter based in Gijón in northern Spain.
Two years ago, I discovered squeegee painting, a technique that uses a rubber spatula to drag acrylic paint across paper, and everything changed. The unpredictability of it, the way color moves and bleeds and surprises you, that's where I feel most alive as an artist.
My work is rooted in color study. I'm endlessly fascinated by how colors relate to each other, how they shift depending on what surrounds them, and how they can carry emotion without any figurative reference.
I've exhibited in Luanco, Asturias, and I'm currently developing licensing agreements to bring my work into new spaces and contexts.
